- This disc is being distributed as the second Archive
- JPEG shareware disc. See the reference in Archive, August '94.
-
- Please note that !FYEO2 is shareware, and NOT
- public domain. This means that you must register
- with the author (details contained within the !Help
- file inside the application) if you use it after
- the two week trial period.
-
- You may still access the images by using a PD JPEG
- application, such as those on the shareware 51 disc.
-
- The NASA images were collected off Internet via
- JANET by Philip Draper, to whom we express grateful
- thanks! All are from 24 bpp originals, and so with
- the right JPEG application, could be used to produce
- 24 bits-per-pixel sprites - for those fortunate enough
- to be using separate graphics cards or the RiscPC.
-
- Note that !FYEO2 will only produce 8 bpp sprites.
-
- ImageBank should produce 24 bpp 'true colour' sprites
- on the right hardware, but not having the 'right
- hardware', I can't test it out!
-
- The images must not be used for commercial purposes.
-
- Double-click on the 'thumbnails' file to get a
- preview of the pictures in a !Paint sprite window.
-
- Even if you are too impatient to read the !FYEO
- document files, do at least make sure that you're in
- a 256 (or 32k or 16M!) colour mode before starting.
-
- NB This disc really needs 2Mb RAM for sensible use,
- and the larger files will need a 4Mb machine to 'unpack'.
- EG SIBERIA produces a 1280k sprite and !FYEO2 needs about
- 1800k of memory in total when processing it!
-
- This disc put together by Stuart Bell, Archive JPEG
- columnist, June 1994.
-
-
- PS Have you got an interesting use of JPEG processing which
- you could share with Archive readers? Have you got some
- new JPEG images which others might like to see?
- If so, please write to:
